The mural tribute to Adolfo Pérez Esquivel was inaugurated on Sunday afternoon in Costanera and Bolívar. The work developed by Martín Meza, Agustina Bosco Urbina and Carlos Ignacio Bogino is part of the Federal Muralism Competition organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Nation. The Municipality of Azul accompanied the artistic collective “Cuestion de Espacio”. In an emotional ceremony, Meza alluded to issues related to the Nobel Peace Prize, as well as the development process of the work and, as is his custom, thanked those present for participating in the festive day.
“We are very happy also to have transformed this space “
In this way, Meza, on the occasion, pointed out that “it is very significant and emotional to find ourselves precisely in the street in what we like to do so much, which is to give an account of how reality can be transformed. We do it from education and art public. About eight months ago we had the opportunity to carry out this work together with those who accompany me. ”
In this way, he mentioned Agustina Bosco, Carlos Bovino, Councilor Marcos Turón who presented the Meza project at the venue, to the team of the Directorate of Culture, family members and the general public.
The muralist continued his story “we meet today because last Friday, Adolfo Pérez Esquivel turned 90 years old, he is the only person who received the Nobel Prize for Peace who is still alive of the five who received this award. He did it for peace. , for being one of the defenders of human rights, for trying to create a better world, and that is why we re-indicated them with this work. We did it precisely in this sector because Adolfo in the 1960s lived in Azul with his wife down Calle 1 de Mayo in a red house, so it was part of this neighborhood. He taught Fine Arts classes, he told us that he knew all the territory of Callvú, that he was a close friend of Bishop Monsignor Hesayne. The truth is what to do This work is to give an account of the richness of our history that is linked precisely to this figure of Adolfo. A person who inspires us, who also motivates us to continue doing this type of initiative, articulating and projecting with what we can do. We are also very happy to have transformed this space that was very abandoned, which is an important artery in our city that leads us to other works of art previously made by renowned artists such as Regazzoni, Rep, Chirola Gasparini, to name a few … “.
It is trying to generate this circuit of tourist attractions and I think it is important to be able to make this closure, which can be the beginning of many things. “
In turn, he and later Councilor Marcos Turón spoke, saying “it is exciting to see how this space was transformed. You can see the number of people who pass by every day and it was really horrible and thanks to the idea of Martín de materialize this mural and take advantage of the only living Nobel Prize, who also lived in Azul and was practically invisible. In my case, I transferred Martín’s idea through an ordinance to make the intervention of the space. The entire council accompanied this idea and the work it is declared cultural heritage “.
Subsequently, a video was shown where the process of making this work was developed. In it you could see the work of two weeks without rest of the boys, who worked with stones, mosaics, cement and paint. During the process, Pérez Esquivel speaks, expressing himself more than satisfied with Meza’s work.
At the end, the image that reflects who are the makers of the work was discovered.
Afterwards, happy birthday was sung to Adolfo Pérez Esquivel and, in this way, the mural made in 360 ° was officially inaugurated.
We would like to thank the writer of this article for this amazing material
