When the 7th Art meets the 7th Heaven!
Having opened its doors during the tumult of the Roaring Twenties, the Hotel Martinez immediately became a place of celebration, luxury and glamor which already brought together the top of society and the anonymous passing through. It is its panoramic views over the bay of Cannes, its luxurious interiors, its esteemed guests and its incomparable aura that make the Hotel Martinez the quintessential symbol of the French Riviera.
With the creation of the Cannes Film Festival in 1946, the Hôtel Martinez established itself as the opening curtain on the world of cinema, its stars and its red carpets. It is by welcoming the greatest icons of French and international cinema each year that the Hotel Martinez is intrinsically linked to the history of the 7th Art. It is moreover to honor this intimate relationship that the interior designer, Pierre-Yves Rochon imagined, on the 7th and last floor of the hotel, two splendid Penthouse apartments dedicated to two great personalities of the cinema: Isabelle Huppert , French actress, and Thierry Frémaux, general delegate of the Cannes Film Festival. Sharing a space of 1250m2, between interior and exterior, these two suites, with panoramic views over the bay of Cannes, are real
jewels which put together register as one of the largest suites in Europe. Each of the Penthouse apartments has been created in a unique way with the unprecedented contribution of the duo Isabelle Huppert and Thierry Frémaux who both brought their personal touch and their vision of glamor to these places. They had at the heart of their project the desire to combine luxury and comfort for a breathtaking result.
Apartment Isabelle Huppert
First of all, the Isabelle Huppert Apartment has been designed in light tones, ranging from white to gold and mixing a large number of textures, such as leather or silk. With custom-made rugs, a simple Cocteau-inspired decoration and a bright space.
Apartment Thierry Frémeaux
The Thierry Frémeaux Apartment, meanwhile, was designed as a masculine boudoir decorated with graphic furniture in cooler tones for a more refined and sober style.
Between the bathroom designed as a dressing room and the black and white tiles evoking the films of the past; a real ode to the festival of yesteryear. In addition, Pierre-Yves Rochon, Isabelle Huppert and Thierry Frémeaux also worked with Julie Massé, perfumer at Mane, with the aim of creating a personalized olfactory identity embodying the individuality of the personalities. For Isabelle Huppert, Julie Massé created a fragrance with notes of tuberose from Grasse.
For Thierry Frémeaux, it is a fragrance with notes of cypress, cedar and fig leaf that embody his preference.
Finally, in each of these two Penthouse apartments, which are notably equipped with large living rooms, dining room, walk-in closets, offices, projection space, etc., objects, books, photos and a musical playlist chosen by the two ambassadors will be found. Finally, the two-starred Chef Christian Sinicropi of the restaurant La Palme d’Or is also working on a special menu served in these apartments, for a complete experience equal to the magic of Cannes and the cinema.
