Strasbourg: cool and free outings for a memorable back-to-school season

If we dropped our little schoolbags for a long times, the agenda remains a must until the end of our school career. Whether you’ve just arrived in Strasbourg for your studies or you’re back for a new year, how about we help you fill it with cool and free events concocted just for students? On the program: meetings to better discover the city, the campus, or make friends !

Perhaps you have already taken a walk this Friday, on the Alternative Campus which we were telling you about last week, organized by the Strasbourg Crous and the Cultural Action Department (Suac) of the University of Strasbourg. Or do a detour via StrascultureSaturday to discover the cultural places of Strasbourg or find a new activity for the year.

But hold on tight: if you’re in college for this new school year, Strasbourg has other activities in store for you that are entirely dedicated to you. We’ve selected a few for you to decompress between two classes.

Back to school 2022: welcome to the University of Strasbourg!

To welcome you to the University of Strasbourg, the latter has compiled all the information and appointments in a small memo on Facebook. You will find the complete listing of the key dates for this new school year. It goes through the Service village on the central campus to meet the main university services or Homecoming Ceremony (both, September 8), at Solidarity Villages of September 15 (central campus) and September 22 (Illkirch campus) to do good business during flea markets.

On the central campus, the 22, we also find digital culture day. On 23 and 26, discover also the student associations of Unistra, and on 27 and 28, Eco-citizen days.

The Cultural Guinguette

Like the Alternative Campus, the Cultural Guinguette is an initiative of the Strasbourg Crous and the Cultural Action Department (Suac) of the University of Strasbourg. A festive event for students to introduce them to the cultural structures of the city, and to promote the Culture Card (which allows you to benefit from a rich cultural program at low prices, in Alsace). It will be fitted out by Street Bouche and animated by a DJset: it promises good things to eat and something to tap your feet.

“Move your back to school” with AFGES

AFGES (The General Federative Association of Strasbourg Students) which will celebrate its centenary next year, is the oldest active student association in France. To prepare for this new school year, she gives you several appointments which will be held on the Esplanade campus.

After a first barbeuc’ organized last Thursday, you can note Thursday, September 8, for the Back-to-school concert. A free event with catering and refreshments on site. Just like the Monday, September 12, with Ciné Flam’s : an outdoor projection of the awesome isle of dogs by Wes Anderson, with sale of meat or vegetable tartes flambées (we are in Strasbourg, after all). And good to know: during their events, soft drinks are always free (only the deposit of 1€ for the Ecocup is to be advanced).

Campus life activities: “100% free, 100% student” with CROUS Strasbourg

Tip of the month: the Crous Strasbourg organizes free outings, creative and sports workshops just for you. Just register, and let’s go for an initiation to Roller (September 17 and 24 at the Skatepark de la Rotonde), or the many activities at the Cité U’ de Gallia workshops: embroidery (September 10), ceramics (September 16 and 23), drawing (September 17 and 18), writing (September 28), or creation of a book-object (September 24, September 1^er and October 8).

And the diary of outings is not left out: the Crous also invites you to an escape game with Dooz (September 9), at a “Ciné Crous” on September 22 see Without filterthe last Palme d’Orand at bowling for striker (September 30). To discover the region, he takes you on a walk to the beautiful Colmar and its Unterlinden museum (the 10th) or on the Wine Route (the 25th). It’s good to be a student in Strasbourg.
