The excellence of CFA La Palme apprentices rewarded

Eighteen students from the La Palme d’Agen apprentice training center received their medals from the “One of the best apprentices in France” competition. A recognition of their excellence and their work.

Recognition of what young apprentices are doing and what they will do in the future. This Friday, June 24, took place the award ceremony of the competition “One of the best apprentices in France”. In total, eighteen young people from CAF La Palme won medals at the end of the competition.

A prize-giving in the presence of two best workers in France, Claude Pozzobon, carpenter, and Lilian Charles, food safety expert. A ceremony made also late for some because of the two years of health crisis.

Body painting, cooking, car maintenance, a total of six girls and twelve boys won a prize, one of which was the prize for the best apprentice in France. The pride of these young people is very present among the educational team of the CFA La Palme and the present members of the chamber of trades. “These eighteen apprentices are our pride, they represent excellence in learning,” commented Jean-François Blanchet, president of the Lot-et-Garonne chamber of trades and crafts.

Four promotions rewarded

Graduated from the 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022 promotions, these young craftsmen have all achieved careers of excellence in various and varied fields thanks to the quality of their work. They all still have, even for the oldest, freshly in memory the moment of this contest. “I still remember the theoretical test” admits laughing Thibaud Rolle, departmental silver medalist in automobile maintenance. “It seemed obvious to me to pass this competition, I like competition” continues a little later Julie Raymond, winner in cold cooking. Today in the kitchens of Stelsia in Villeneuve-sur-Lot, she remains “very proud” of her career.

All thanked the teachers who accompanied them in their journey as well as their very first bosses. Cyril Chtioui, departmental gold medal in body painting, insists on this point. “During our journeys, we were always projected upwards.”

The most striking career is undoubtedly that of Marceau Fronteau, unfortunately absent, whose work has been awarded gold at the departmental, regional and national levels. Today he is the best apprentice in France, officiating at the Fourth Wall in Bordeaux under the leadership of chef Philippe Etchebest.

If Marceau’s future will perhaps be decided in London with chef Helene Darroze, his comrades also have careers of excellence that they intend to perpetuate in the future.
