Started on July 12, the 7th edition of the Harvest of the 7th Art, the International Film Festival of Pauillac ends this Sunday, July 17. Sharing, emotions, societal messages and young talents… This edition was memorable, without forgetting the moments of laughter!
Back to event!
Before detailing the winners of the prizes awarded during this 7th edition, let’s dwell on this last day of the Festival… This Sunday revealed some nice surprises!
Zabou Breitman and the animated film
Come to present his film The Swallows of Kabul, adaptation of the novel by Yasmina Khadra with illustrations by Elea Gobbe-Mevellec, she told us about her passion for animated films. The watercolors, portraits of the actors, allow the retransmission of each emotion, each gesture, each expression. An “artisanal” realism that brings strength and sometimes even violence to the initial text. For her, this film is a turning point in her career, she explained it during a Master Class at the Eden Cinema.
Jean Becker: 89 years of talent
Gérard Depardieu, Fanny Ardant, Benoît Poelvoorde: this is the casting that is offered Jean Becker for the film The Green Shuttersadaptation of the novel by George Simenon, a tailor-made film for a Gérard Depardieu who signs here one of his greatest roles. In full discussion with the spectators after the screening, Jean Becker confides to us that the first time that Gérard Depardieu saw the film, he remained circumspect for ten minutes, seated in his armchair, silent. It is to live these moments that this great director continues again and again to tell us stories.
Between you and God, there is no one, is there?
This replica is a key moment in this film that you will be able to discover in theaters on August 24th.
Women’s Response
More than a documentary, it is a cinema film directed by Marie Perennès and Simon Depardon. With Women’s Responsethey bring to the big screen testimonies of women victims of sexist violence, street harassment, but they also give voice to associations fighting against feminicide.
Cinema is also political – Marie Pérennès
This 7th edition of the Vendanges du 7ème Art ended in style with the preview screening of the film Without filter of Ruben Ostlund , Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival. Jocellyne Aymé, Director of the Harvest Festival of the 7th Art and Cinema Eden spent two weeks in Cannes to select this program, a quality work which marked the jurors and the public who came in large numbers to each session, whether at the Eden cinema or in the open air on the quays of Pauillac during these 6 Festival days.
Epicureanism and Médoc Wines
Because this cultural and cinematographic event also aims to promote the wines of the Médoc, loyal partners have once again been present to have their best wines tasted by the guests of honor and the public. The finest wine houses in the region had come together.
