UniversCiné has established itself as a must in the VOD market thanks to an eclectic and singular catalog. The platform recently launched several subscription plans. Whatever your profile, you will find a shoe that suits you!
UniversCiné: a French and independent platform, adapted to all tastes
UniversCiné joined the VOD market in 2007. With more than fifteen years of experience, the French and independent platform has been offering several subscription options to its users since 2020.
“Following the launch of our “By subscription” offer two years ago, our subscribers expressed their desire to take advantage of the catalog of films offered in the “A la carte” (VOD) offer, explains Denis Rostein, CEO of UniversCiné. In response to this expectation, we have decided to evolve our offers, simply making a more obvious bridge between our two offers while respecting the media chronology..”
Thus, the à la carte formula allows you to rent and watch more than 10,000 films: find the most cult classics or discover the latest new releases, from €2.99 and without obligation.
For those who prefer subscriptions, three formulas are also proposeddepending on your profile: from “basic” to “cinephile”, via “premium”, between €6.99 and €15.99 per month.
They give you unlimited access to a catalog of more than a thousand films and to discover thematic cycles every week. Subscribers who have opted for the “premium” or “cinéphile” formulas can also access 1 or 3 “À la carte” films per month, including new releases.
In October, focus on the Pedro Almodóvar cycle
On the program this month, UniversCiné shines its spotlight on 4 cult works by director Pedro Almodóvar, whose adaptation with Cate Blanchett of A Manual for Cleaning Women is in production.
Want to rediscover the performances of Pénélope Cruz in Broken Embraces and Antonio Banderas in La Piel que habito? To vibrate in front of Emma Suárez (Goya 2017 for best actress) in the skin of Julieta, or to laugh at the Passenger Lovers? No doubt, this retrospective is made for you!
Are you still asking?
In addition to its thematic cycles, UniversCiné lists a number of great films, classic or recent! If you enjoyed the scathing humor of Without Filter, Ruben Östlund’s film awarded the last Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival, know that UniversCiné allows you to (re)discover The Square, his previous feature film… also awarded a palme d’or in 2017!
The Square tells the story of Christian (Claes Bang). Divorced father who likes to devote time to his two children, popular curator of a contemporary art museum, he is also one of those who drive an electric car and support major humanitarian causes. Christian is preparing his next exhibition, entitled “The Square”, around an installation encouraging visitors to altruism and reminding them of their duty towards their neighbors. But when he is the victim of a theft, his values are undermined…
And that’s not all ! UniversCiné subscriptions also allow access to the platform’s catalog of series, where quality takes precedence over quantity: if you are tired of the usual soap operas, dragons and other elves, the cinephile that you are will undoubtedly enjoy discovering Le Temps of the Nabobs.
This documentary series, only available on UniversCiné, highlights men and women who, from the post-war period to the end of the 1970s, produced films that continue to mark viewers around the world. This return to the great names in the history of cinema should educate and move even the greatest aficionados!
You will understand, UniversCiné has not finished surprising you! Let the most curious among you take a look at their catalog: they will not fail to find some nuggets there.
