After months of speculation, it’s finally official. Prince Harry’s memoir, originally planned for the 2022 holiday season, will finally be published on January 10, 2023. Spare in the English version – which could be translated as eternal second in French – the confession book of the Duke of Sussex will be translated into 15 languages. The announcement was made by publisher Penguin Random House on October 27, 2022.

It is the Fayard publishing house which will publish in France, also from January 10, Harry’s memoirs, the title of which has been translated into French by The Substitute. In the process, the cover of the future bestseller with a portrait of the Duke of Sussex was unveiled at the same time as a dedicated site for pre-ordering the book.

Penguin Random House had announced the memoir project by King Charles’s youngest son on July 19, 2021. Harry’s book was co-authored by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist JR Moehringer. “With raw and unvarnished honesty, The Alternate is a landmark book, full of insight, revelation, self-questioning, and hard-learned lessons about the eternal power of love in the face of grief,” the official statement read.

According to sources cited by the New York Times, the contract signed between Meghan and Hary and Penguin Random House would relate to “several books” the number of which has not yet been defined.
