Known as the STEP (Storage of Antimatter for Future Use) project, the experiment involved ferrying 92 antiprotons for 20 minutes in a specially designed, cryogenic container within a 4-kilometer closed circuit. The key was maintaining the antiparticles at a mere 8.2 Kelvin (-265°C) within ultra-stable magnetic fields that fluctuated by only a millionth of a tesla – a staggering 20,000 times less intense than Earth's natural magnetic field.

The project's ultimate goal is to establish an antimatter 'delivery service' capable of transporting this fragile material across Europe for up to eight hours, allowing for precise measurements of its properties. If successful, antimatter could transition from being the universe's most elusive substance to a delicately handled commodity with doorstep delivery, perhaps even available for purchase in tiny quantities online – though Amazon's packaging guidelines might need a drastic revision.
