Ai-powered digital legacy project gains momentum

From family photos to ai-generated histories

Inspired by a visit to his grandmother, Jeremy, the project's creator, started manually organizing a trove of 1,300 old family photos. As he added dates, names, locations, captions, and other details, he realized he was building an extensive personal encyclopedia.

Combining these archives with modern AI language models, Jeremy demonstrated the project's potential. He fed the system 625 photos from a 2012 family trip, along with Google Maps location history, iPhone metadata, Uber records, and even Shazam song IDs. The AI generated a detailed narrative based solely on the images and their metadata.

This powerful concept has significant implications for leaving a lasting digital legacy, but also raises privacy concerns. For now, WhoAmI.wiki runs locally to ensure privacy, with Jeremy having already analyzed over 100,000 personal messages and thousands of voice notes from more than a decade.
