Battlefield 6's new railway to golmud map offers hope for more airborne combat

Battlefield 6 players have long lamented the game's limited airspace, with pilots often being confined to a narrow play area and vulnerable to anti-air attacks. However, DICE has delivered a much-needed fix with the latest Railway to Golmud map, a remake of a Battlefield 4 classic.

Golmud's expanse offers room to soar

The new map is massive, providing ample space for dogfights and aerial battles without worrying about running into out-of-bounds areas. This is a welcome change for fans of airborne combat, who have often felt hemmed in by the game's previous maps.

While Railway to Golmud doesn't solve the airspace issue for every map, it's a significant step in the right direction. The map's designers have clearly listened to player feedback and aimed to create a more immersive, expansive environment.

EA has also committed to reworking two other small maps, New Sobek City and Blackwell Fields, which have been criticized for their lack of airspace. These updates should provide further relief for pilots, though the final results remain to be seen.

Beyond these map changes, Battlefield 6 is also addressing another major concern: the pace of content updates. Fans have been underwhelmed by the amount of new content, with some expressing frustration that it's not being released quickly enough. The upcoming Season 5, however, promises to change that, with three new maps on the way instead of the usual two.
