Crimson desert performance details emerge ahead of launch

Pearl Abyss has finally released detailed performance benchmarks for Crimson Desert on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, fueling speculation about the game's optimization just days before its March 19 release.

Console specs revealed, but footage remains elusive

The developer's data covers a spectrum of configurations, from the Xbox Series S to the PlayStation 5, outlining performance modes (Performance, Balanced, Quality) and target frame rates at various resolutions. However, the lack of gameplay footage showcasing these settings has ignited concerns among some players, echoing anxieties surrounding past console releases like Cyberpunk 2077.

A recent statement from a Pearl Abyss spokesperson acknowledged these concerns, urging patience and reiterating their commitment to providing previews before launch. “We’re not hiding anything,” the spokesperson stated, adding a pointed commentary on the community's impatience.

PC gamers also have a glimpse of what to expect, with ultra settings demanding an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Ti or AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT for consistent 4K 60fps. The developers have emphasized ongoing optimization efforts to ensure a smooth experience across all platforms.

Crimson Desert will launch at a price of $69.99 and will notably avoid cosmetic microtransactions. The game's technical specifications for PC (and Mac/ROG Ally) are now available. It remains to be seen if these figures will quell the lingering doubts.
