Pokémon pokopia update fixes missing creatures, habits

Pokémon Pokopia, the popular life simulation game for Switch 2, has received an update to fix issues with missing creatures and habitats. Since its release in March, the game has seen massive success, selling over 2.2 million copies and receiving praise from both critics and fans for its cozy sandbox gameplay.

The Version 1.0.3 update, now available for all Switch 2 owners, resolves the problem of Pokémon disappearing from habitats when islands become overcrowded. Previously, searching for these creatures using the Pokédex also failed to produce results in some cases. The update also includes improvements to prevent other glitches, outlined in the full patch notes below.

Other bug fixes in the update include:

  • Issue where traveling to a Dream Island would sometimes result in getting stuck in Palette Town
  • Screen remaining dark when moving between towns or changing the in-game date
  • Preventing Pokémon habitat relocation in certain situations
  • Construction projects not completing due to date changes
  • Progress blocked in Bleak Beach's charging station request
  • Seasonal Pokémon vanishing from Cloud Islands
  • Error when creating new Cloud Islands
  • Controller vibrating continuously in some cases

While bugs are an unfortunate reality, Pokémon Pokopia seems to be on the mend. Its success stands in stark contrast to the recent launch of Pokémon Champions, which has been marred by technical issues and feature complaints.

Players have been putting Pokopia through its paces, building elaborate creations like a working calculator and engaging in lore-driven fun, like hiding Mew under a truck. The game has even seen an official IKEA crossover.
