Slay the spire 2 conquers steam, teasing hollow knight: silksong

Mega Crit's Slay the Spire 2 has stormed onto Steam, breaking into the top 20 most-played games of all time with a staggering 574,638 peak concurrent players over the weekend.

Roguelike supremacy

Already the most-played roguelike ever on Steam after launching last week, Slay the Spire 2 has now joined the exclusive top 20, with some major indie titles in its sights, including Team Cherry's Hollow Knight: Silksong, which reached a peak of 587,150 players.

'Our team is totally blown away by the amount of people who have been playing and sharing their love for the game we've been working on for the past half decade,' Mega Crit tweeted, celebrating their success while cheekily pointing out Silksong as their target.

Despite the game's massive popularity, Mega Crit has no plans for microtransactions, with co-founder Casey Yano stating bluntly, 'We're microtransaction haters.'
