S.t.a.l.k.e.r. 2's first dlc expansion, cost of hope, unveiled with chilling trailer

Fifteen months after its initial release, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is expanding its post-apocalyptic world with a new campaign, Cost of Hope.

This ambitious DLC promises to deliver a fresh narrative arc, set in parallel to the main story, with Skif, the protagonist, caught in the midst of Duty and Freedom factions' renewed conflict.

Players will explore the iconic Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, now open to stalkers seeking resources, and venture into the treacherous Iron Woods, a labyrinth few dare to enter.

Each new zone comes with its own central hub, missions, and activities. Skif will also gain access to new weapons and armor as he faces off against terrifying mutants and anomalies.

GSC Game World has confirmed that Cost of Hope won't be a standalone expansion - instead, it's the first part of a larger story that will unfold across future DLCs.

While the studio remains tight-lipped on the total number of expansions planned, they promise to weave a complex narrative that goes beyond the consequences of the base game.

With its 64 kilometers of open world and an impressive 77% positive Steam reviews, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 has kept its development team busy even as they worked on improving the game. And now, Cost of Hope offers even more reasons to dive back into the radioactive wasteland.
