A modern phone, recognizing this capability, will draw the maximum power available, while an older device, or a less powerful port, will begrudgingly provide only a trickle.

And it’s not just the port itself. The cable matters too. A cheap, outdated USB-C cable can severely bottleneck the charging speed, even if the port is a PD-enabled powerhouse. To truly unlock the potential of your mobile devices, you need to combine a compatible port, a high-quality cable, and a device that supports PD.

Otherwise, expect a noticeably slower charge.
